FAQ

  • Do I need any previous experience?
    No, Lessons cater for all abilities. All our members are friendly and approachable. Everyone started out as a beginner and everyone remembers their first day.
  • Do I need anything special for my first lesson?
    Just come along in track suit bottoms (preferably without zips so they don’t catch or scratch) and a t-shirt.
  • Do I need to book?
    No, just come along and join in, but if you want to take advantage of an initial free trial lesson you will need to fill in the on-line form at least 24hrs in advance.
  • Do I need to be fit to start Ju Jitsu?
    No, because by training you gradually increase fitness and you can work at your own pace to begin with. The group will support you regardless.
  • What ages can train?
    Anyone can train from age six to senior citizens. Older children have the decision as to whether they want to join the junior or adult class.
  • Why pick Ju Jitsu over other martial arts?
    We believe Ju Jitsu offers a complete approach to Self Defence with throws and restraints as well as punching, kicking and wrestling skills. Ju Jitsu gives students a thorough understanding of the weaknesses and strengths of the body. Size and strength are not important when technique is executed well, making Ju Jitsu an ideal choice regardless of gender.
